Sing it with me!!! Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba...........

Ah Yes--The Lion King!!

Tickets are in hand for 6 year old and I to attend the wonder that is THE LION KING!!!!!

I am so excited to take her and let her learn that not everything is a movie or DVD. I don't think she quite understands the idea of "The THEAHTA", but this should be a good introduction for her.

Our tickets are for March 15th--and beg the pardon of the stupid--but shouldn't a matinee cost LESS than an evening performance???? Not in this case--no. They have you by the short hairs because they KNOW that no kid is going to last thru an evening show--so jack up the prices for when the kiddies will actualy stay awake. UGH! I got aisle seats at an angle to the stage on the main floor--that way I can put a cushion under her and she won't have major "head blockage" to deal with. We are main floor--but The Stranahan has a nice grade to it--so we should be fine. I would normally have chosen Loge seating, but I think everyone else had the same idea--nothing was left.

Here is the Zulu part of the Circle of Life song for any of you wondering what the heck they are saying in the begining of the song:

Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba [Here comes a lion, Father]
Sithi uhm ingonyama [Oh yes, it's a lion]
Nants ingonyama bagithi baba
Sithi uhhmm ingonyama
Ingonyama
Siyo Nqoba [We're going to conquer]
Ingonyama
Ingonyama nengw' enamabala [A lion and a leopard come to this open place]
[Chant repeats]

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life
It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life

I saw THE LION KING in Chicago a couple of years ago and it was amazing! I thought the costumes and puppets would be distracting, but in less than 10 minutes, I was totally sucked in.

(P.S. The wildebeast stampede is awesome!)

Hope you have a great time.
